Canadian-American Challenge Cup, byname Can-am Cup, trophy of a series of automobile races that took place annually from 1966 to 1975 and from 1977 to 1986. It was sponsored jointly by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) and the Canadian Automobile Sports Committee (CASC). Entries were two-seater sports and racing cars classified in Group 7 by rules of the International Automobile Federation, the world governing body of auto racing. Races in the series were short, usually about 200 miles (320 km) in length, and were held at various road circuits in the United States and Canada. A driver’s championship was awarded at the end of each year. The Can-Am Cup races were suspended after the 1986 season.
