Daitō, city, eastern Ōsaka fu (urban prefecture), west-central Honshu, Japan. It is situated on the eastern border of Ōsaka city and extends eastward from the Ikoma Mountains to the Ōsaka plain on land reclaimed from the lowlands during the 17th and 18th centuries.

Daitō was a farming community until the opening of a railway connection to Ōsaka and the subsequent establishment of textile plants in the area. After World War II, factories producing metal products and electrical appliances were built at the foot of the mountains, and Daitō became an industrial city. It also serves as a residential suburb of the Ōsaka-Kōbe metropolitan area. Pop. (2005) 126,504; (2010) 127,534.
