Stamford, town (parish), South Kesteven district, administrative and historic county of Lincolnshire, east-central England, on the River Welland.

It is an ancient market town incorporated in 1462. Built of local limestone, it preserves much of its traditional character and architectural distinction and is largely unspoiled by modern industry. Noteworthy churches include St. Mary’s, All Saints’, and St. Martin’s, and there are remains of the 7th-century Benedictine Priory of St. Leonard and a Carmelite monastery (1291). Pop. (2001) 19,525; (2011) 19,701.
