Phra Nakhon

Phra Nakhon, also spelled Phra Nakhorn or Phra Nakorn, section of Bangkok Metropolis, Thailand’s capital and largest city, on the east bank of the Mae Nam (river) Chao Phraya. It was a changwat (province) until 1972, when it was merged with Thon Buri, west of the river, to form the enlarged province of Krung Thep Mahanakhon (Bangkok Metropolis).
