Yomou, town, southeastern Guinea. It is the chief trading centre (rice, cassava, coffee, and palm oil and kernels) for a densely forested region of the Guinea Highlands mainly inhabited by the Guerze (Kpelle) and Mano (Manon) peoples. The surrounding area borders Liberia on the east, west, and south and the Guinean regions of Macenta on the northwest and Nzérékoré on the northeast. Pop. (1996) 9,991.
